About

Victims of stalking have human rights too!  Getting out of a domestic violence situation is easy; surviving is not. Law enforcement needs to step up. It's a matter of civil rights.

NOBODY SHOULD LIVE IN FEAR OF THEIR EX

It is a sad state of affairs when a woman stays in a dangerous relationhip for many years in a futile attempt to protect herself and her children.  Then after she finally gets the courage to leave, she immediately finds herself in another battle for survival.  No, it isn't the struggle to make ends meet and handle the role of a single parent; it's about staying alive.

While shielding her children from the traumatic events happening around them, she is filing police reports and installing security systems.  She is working full-time, then staying up half the night while listening to each and every sound.  What will it be tonight - a busted windshield or endless phone hang-ups?

She had to beg for the order of protection; the one that is never enforced by the police.  Her kids are confused by their father's erratic behavior.  They get upset when he blows off visitation, but their Mother is relieved that they aren't at the mercy of a maniac that day.

When will it end?  In the pit of her stomach, she knows the answer is never.  She is branded by him, and he has no intention of freeing his slave; his property.  He will do everything in his power to get her back or to make sure nobody else gets her.  She is a marked woman.

If YOU ARE THE VICTIM IN THIS FAMILIAR STORY

You are not alone.  This gross violation of your human rights has affected millions of us.  We have been silent for awhile because of fear, shame, and denial.  We refuse to be silent any longer.

Our lives have just as much value as anybody else's, and we are here to demand action that will give us back our basic human rights.  We are going to raise all kinds of hell with elected officials and public servants who allow this travesty of justice to continue.  The public services that are failing to fulfill their duties can bank on it.

If you are able, please join in the fight for the rights of all domestic violence and stalking victims.  You can begin by learning from your sisters.  You can sign petitions and send letters.  When you are strong enough, you can speak out and tell your story without shame and guilt.

Our voices will be so loud that they won't be drowned out by the good 'ole boys and their good 'ole gals anymore.

You and I are people who matter.
